Gracie Leaving for 5 Months

Letter from Gracie...

PLEASE PRAY!There is a lot to do before Thursday, but I feel God is pushing me to trust Himand step out of my comfortable life and literally jump out of the boat at veryshort notice. This Thursday (1/5/2012),I will embark on a 5 month adventure with God. Yes, I said this Thursday! Let me start at the beginning….

Many of youknow I went to Malawi, Africa in April 2009 with my Dad. Although that was 2 years ago, I remember itlike it was yesterday, how strongly I felt God stirring my heart. I felt convinced that I was going to serveHim with my life in some way on the mission field. I also felt Him urging me toward gainingmedical skills to take with me into the field.

By Decemberof 2009 I felt restless that I hadn’t made any progress toward the goal ofgetting back out on the field, so I convinced my parents to let me go to Urbana2009. A huge mission’s conference of 30,000 college students held in Missouri! Iwas about to turn 18 a week before I would leave, I was alone and I got verysick while I was there. Most of the timeI physically felt miserable, but through the worship, prayer time andincredible speakers, I felt God’s confirmation and peace. I made a commitment to a long term missionwhere ever God called me; my hope was that He’d call me back to Africa.

As soon as Imade the commitment, I entered a time of serious and unexplainableillness. The year began with fainting,fatigue, migraine headaches, stomach problems, insomnia and pain, sometimesexcruciating, that would just not go away. After every imaginable medical test, and a lot of experiments withprescriptions, I ended up with the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia. This made school very difficult, work verydifficult and actually all aspects of life were exhausting. It was a very discouraging and depressing season.

Near the endof the summer this year I began to realize that I was learning how to manage myFibromyalgia. With changes to my diet,Yoga and swimming for exercise and plenty of rest, I only have occasional “baddays.” I am not taking any medicationand am no longer under medical care for the condition, so I began praying andasking God to move me toward my goal. InSeptember, I completed my EMT Certification and began searching for the rightmission opportunity. The YWAMMedical Discipleship Training School (DTS) looked very intriguing and Iinquired and began filing out an application. I didn’t complete the application, thinking maybe it was too soon andfocused on school instead.

Last week Ireceived a call and a text message from a man named Joon from the MedicalDTS. He just wanted to answer anyquestions I had about DTS and so I called him back. To make this long story a little shorter, Dr.Joon is the Asst. Director of the School, he and many others have been prayingfor me since I began the application. Dr. Joon has reminded me about my passionfor serving God in the mission field; and Dr. Joon and the YWAM staff invitedme to take a leap of faith and come to Kona this Thursday! And, so I am! I know God has something incredible plannedfor me and I strongly feel Him pushing me to finally get going!

I will spend3 months learning from teachers from all over the world about God and aboutmedical missions! I get to spend 2months after that on the mission field, ministering to those in need! Icannot imagine a better opportunity, or a clearer call from God than this!!

All this tosay I need your help. I must raise $4,000for the Lecture phase (3 months) and another $4,000 for the outreach (2 months,country is not yet determined). Pleaseconsider supporting me financially. Donations can be made out to Reaching the Hungry if you want a tax-deduction.

Malawi Mission's Trip Partnership

Dear friend,

I will be leading a mission’s trip to Malawi from November 5-19, 2011. Malawi is one of 53 countries in Africa and it’s one of the top 10 poorest countries in the WORLD.

We are going to share the love of God in Word and deed. We will be sharing God’s Word with them; teaching several days of spiritual and leadership training, using the Evangel Cube to share the Gospel, and setting up Talking Bible Listening Groups. We will also express God’s love by giving the gifts of clean water & farming inputs (to sustain physical life), soccer equipment (to provide joy, especially for the children), and Talking Bibles (for the many who can’t read, to provide hope through the hearing of God’s Word).

Africa is in major water crises and millions of people are dying due to lack of safe drinking water. One of our team members has 40-years of experience drilling and repairing water wells. Our goal is to drill and repair 3 water wells while we’re there. This will save thousands of lives, many of them young children. Most children under 5-years-old that get sick, due to waterborne diseases do not survive.

No other humanitarian intervention has a more dramatic effect on life than access to clean water. Roughly every minute, 3 children die, because of unsafe drinking water and poor sanitation. The lack of clean water creates a no-win situation for millions of parents in our world today... they watch helplessly as their children die for lack of water, or they can watch them die from diarrhea, because the only water they have is tainted.

Using Sports to Share

God's Love

I love the game of soccer and most children all over the world do too. I have found that giving a soccer ball to someone can build a bridge to sharing the Gospel.

Thank you to those who have been part of supporting our ministry. Last month we were able to send Talking Bibles, complete soccer uniform sets and balls to China and Nepal.

The Dalits of India

I've had the privilege of meeting Kumar Swamy of Operation Mobilization. Kumar is a Dalit, an "untouchable", in India. He shared some of his story with two of my Bible study groups.

The way the Dalits are treated is a form of modern day slavery. It's amazing to know that there are over 300 million Dalits today... that's more people than in the United States!

Except for the few Dalits who have found freedom, all are being treated like they are less than animals, abused and used as modern day slaves. It's unthinkable that this is happening today. It has so many horrible similarities to the way African Americans were once treated in the United States. The men in my men's Bible study this morning said they had no idea that this is going on today in India. Did you?

Learn more about the Dalits and please pray for them. If you want to make a difference, please join our ministry to explore ways we can work together in showing God's love to these people.

Lisa and I had one the the Directors from Generate Hope share at our small group Bible study last night. This is a little of what we learned...

The Problem

San Diego has been identified by the FBI as a high intensity child prostitution area.
San Diego is an international gateway city for sex trafficking.
At least 1 million American children are involved in prostitution each year.
Sex trafficking is a multi billion dollar business annually & is the fastest growing business of organized crime.
Until now, there has been no long-term recovery program available in San Diego specifically for these young women.

Missionary overwhelmed with Talking Bible knowing impact it's going to make!

Last year I lead a team that recorded the New Testament in Tonga to be used in Talking Bibles.

Most of the Tonga people can not read. When our team delivered the Talking Bibles to a missionary, that works with the Tonga people, she fell on her face weeping knowing what it would mean to have God's Word in audio form. She has been working with the Tonga people for a long time and they only hear the Bible if she reads it to them.

One of the Tonga Bibles was given to a pastor's wife who started Bible Listening Groups. After 6-months she reported to us that she had exposed 890 people to the Gospel in their own language for the first time. 380 people accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.

What a GREAT investment in building the kingdom!

For those that don't know... Lisa, my wife's father is Japanese, her maiden name is Watanabe, and I'm part Chinese. I was born not too far from Japan in Hong Kong. We've had many students from Japan live with us throughout the years... many "daughters" that are in Japan. We have only heard from one of them, so far. Our heart goes out to the people of Japan. Please join us in praying for them and putting our faith into action and asking God what would He have us do to show His love and to take His Good News that offers hope and peace to the people of Japan?

World Vision is one of our ministry partners that we have worked with for the last 3+ years in Africa and other parts of the world. They have been showing God's love in Word and deed to 112 countries around the world.

A little over 6-years ago a missionary friend in Japan had a vision from God that the island of Japan was baptized and given a new birth.

Situation facts

March 11, 2011 @ 1:46pm – An 8.9-magnitude earthquake hit the northeastern coast of Japan (near the east coast of Honshu) triggering a devastating tsunami (waves as high as 33 feet) affecting other countries as well
It was the country’s biggest earthquake ever and the seventh largest on record, according to US Geological Survey data
Media reports state that over 800 people died, more than 700 missing while 200,000 have evacuated while villages were washed away. Hardest hit are coastal areas of north-eastern part of the country.
All major transportation means (e.g. trains and highways) are stopped in major affected cities, people are unable to access any transportation mean to return back home, many are stuck in their offices or at their train stations
Electricity is cut off for about 7,000,000 households
The affected population faces major difficulty in telecommunication
Aftershocks continue

Children in Japan are keenly feeling the fear and insecurity that often set in following natural disasters. World Vision team departed from Tokyo on March 12th with hopes to do relief distributions and set up Child-Friendly Spaces. Staff will be sent to the affected areas to conduct an assessment of the situation in each area and determine the needs of survivors. First relief supplies (baby food, wipes, warm jackets for 0-6 month year olds) will begin being distributed today, March 14th.

These continuing aftershocks and tsunami are hampering the search and rescue efforts. The main highway from Tokyo leading to affected areas is closed, and relief teams traveling must take smaller roads which are also blocked in places with debris.

Today, the assessment team will travel to Fukushima, where nuclear contamination has forced the evacuations of tens of thousands of people. The assessment will inform how best World Vision can respond to the needs there.

“Last night, I visited one of the shelters housing some 340,000 people who have been evacuated around the city,” said Mitsuko Sobata, communications and advocacy officer for World Vision Japan. “Children are sleeping on cardboard with one blanket in freezing weather. It was very difficult for me to see that. They’re tired and afraid, and the tragedy they’ve endured is overwhelming.” VIDEO

Monday, 3/14, 9:13 pm PST: Assessment teams in Japan are gathering water, blankets and diapers to serve an initial 6,000 people in the city of Tome, some 190 miles from Sendai for distribution in the coming days.

Monday, 3/14, 2:01 pm PST: World Vision staff are getting water, diapers, blankets, and powdered milk for thousands outside of Sendai, focusing specifically on children's needs.

Monday, 3/14, 9:54 am PST: At least 340,000 people have evacuated to nearby shelters. The Japanese government has mobilized 100,000 scale teams which are specialized in emergency response from military force (JSDF), police, fire department, Japan Coast Guard together with local administrations.

Making a Difference

I went to El Salvador to view firsthand the World Vision Community Transformational Model: clean water, nutritious food, health care, educational opportunities, and spiritual nurturing are all elements of the holistic approach World Vision takes in transforming communities and individuals for a sustainable future. This is the best example I’ve seen of showing God’s love in Word and Deed!

My fondest memories are always of the people…

Maria is the manager of a group of eight restaurant owners. She and her partners are single mothers; they are caring for 21 children. They were given a small business loan by World Vision to open a small restaurant. We bought lunch there and it was really good! They came up with the plan, they make it work and they are doing an incredible job. This is nothing less than a miracle! Not the way we expect to see a miracle packaged, not a physical healing but no less than a miracle! Eight lives have been transformed and 21 children have been spared a lifetime of poverty. 29 lives have been touched by the love of Christ though a tangible expression of help. Seeing lives transformed is why I love what I do!!

We have never worried about food security, healthy growth for our children and hope for the future. Yet, these are haunting concerns and fleeting dreams for millions of parents all over the world.

I had the privilege of sitting in on a training session in El Salvador that was addressing these needs and relieving the fears of a small group of mothers. World Vision was teaching the young women about nutrition and providing them with the necessary ingredients to make “power drinks” for their toddlers. The mothers come weekly, their child is weighed and they get to remain in the program if they’re following directions and their child is growing. The program provides so much more than just a food hand out. The women are learning valuable information that they are sharing, they are building relationships with each other and with the staff, they are becoming more confident as they see their success and their children are loving this “pre-school’ like experience. Best of all, the program includes some great instruction on hope for the future and who that hope should be in. I had the privilege to pray for the moms and little ones.

Through the promotion of Child Sponsorships, I hope to see many of these programs initiated.

Then, there was Pastor Carlos who was excited to receive a Talking Bible in Spanish. Yes, I met another Pastor Carlos in El Salvador, imagine that.

I was getting thirstier and I was trying not to envision the 55 gallon drum of water I saw behind the house. I trusted that they’d boil it for me and do everything they could to make it safe for me to drink. I think it was the floating objects that made me a little nervous. It also bothered me a little that I couldn’t see clear to the bottom of the drum. Unfortunately, this is their normal. They worry about getting sick too. In fact the illness resulting from waterborne disease is staggering.

Just days before, I saw World Vision plumb running water to 200 homes in a community in El Salvador. This was accomplished because a number of children in an Area Development Project were sponsored. This is my prayer for this community in Nicaragua. Clean water. A new normal.

Reaching the Hungry is committed to partner with World Vision to show the love of Christ by caring for children. Children make up the largest population group in the world of those who live in extreme poverty without the knowledge of Jesus Christ. A child sponsorship is the single most effective way to reach out in Word and Deed. Clean water, nutritious food, health care, educational opportunities, and spiritual nurturing are all elements of the holistic approach World Vision takes in transforming communities and individuals for a sustainable future.

Dear Friends,

With the coming of the New Year we will be branching off from FaithQuest Missions to begin our own missions mobilizing organization, Reaching the Hungry, in Word & deed. Our mission will be to mobilize churches to put their faith into action by reaching those that are hungry spiritually & physically throughout the world. We will be going to new countries, will be offering new serving opportunities, & have lined up some new partners. Some of you are wondering….why a new organization? If we haven’t gotten a chance to fill you in, here’s the long version. If you have any questions or want to talk, please feel free to call.

It has been one of the most challenging yet fruitful years of my life. We have met some of God’s poorest children & have, with your help, brought hope to them in Christ’s name. I have been to China exploring serving opportunities; I took Lisa with me to Malawi this year (they loved her); & I have witnessed over & over the miracle of lives transformed by God’s Word through the Talking Bible. Ministry has never been sweeter! On a personal level, we have experienced tremendous financial strain as we endure these uncertain financial times & to our dismay, our Gracie has been diagnosed (after a long & painful process) with fibromyalgia. Life is hard, life is not fair & yet God is very, very good. Lisa & I love this work, we feel it a privilege to be used in God’s service & we count it such an honor that we have the prayers & support of so many dear friends.

It has been tremendously rewarding serving under John & Lori Gash of FaithQuest Missions. John has blessed me with his unending enthusiasm & exuberance for God’s work, & he has given me experience & confidence to step out into what God calls me to next. Watching hope wash over the desperate expression of someone in extreme need has been the highlight of all my years of service. Thank you John for letting me see this! The past three years of compassion ministry have instilled in me an urgent & compelling need to mobilize workers & resources to continue this work of reaching the hungry. My heart has been broken over & over again. My head has been reeling with ideas & strategies & I’ve felt the Lord nudging me to take a step of faith & explore new ways to accomplish His work.

What I loved most about pastoring in the local church was the opportunity to motivate & equip the body of believers for service. Especially rewarding was watching someone move out of their comfort zone, take a leap of faith & then experience God’s grace on a whole new level. Before my season as a pastor, Lisa & I loved short term mission’s trips. We used a lot of our vacation time for service in other countries. We were especially drawn to the poor & working on relief projects. I can see that God has uniquely prepared me to combine these experiences & desires into my next season of Kingdom work. I intend to tailor mission’s opportunities & programs to meet the needs of U.S. pastors. I intend to bridge the gap between the affluent & sometimes complacent U.S. Congregations & the desperately hungry (spiritually & physically) throughout the world. I intend to foster global perspective & facilitate long-term relationships between our brothers & sisters in the field & in the local body. I intend to save lives, with serving opportunities to meet physical needs & to save lives for eternity with the Gospel of Christ.

This is a God sized vision, & I am thrilled the Lord has entrusted it to me. I have faith & peace that He will bring His purpose to pass & am so honored that He is allowing me to watch Him work! A Good Investment

I sat on a stoop of a dilapidated school house and listened to Amos, the Director of the Chief’s Ministry, explain his vision.

"If we can reach the Chiefs with the Gospel, their people will follow. If we can disciple them, they will teach their villages."

We’re waiting at a new site for a Chief’s Bible Study, he’s hopeful some chiefs will show up. I started seeing dots on the horizon, some of the solitary dots were moving toward us very slowly, but packs of very small dots were moving toward us quickly, kicking up a cloud of dust as they moved. As you might have guessed, the dust cloud of small dots arrived first. Children! They are everywhere in Malawi! 80% of Malawi’s population is children. They are unwashed and in rags. Some are sick and many are carrying smaller children. They are fascinated with us, grinning, giggling and trying to get as close as they dare. They are absolutely beautiful!

Then, one by one, the solitary dots arrive. The chiefs are coming! Many started walking early that morning to reach us by 2 in the afternoon. Most didn’t have shoes, but when they reached us they were not tired. They were excited to be there. The chiefs, men and women alike, have weathered and worn faces but when they smile, they are, like the children, absolutely beautiful! 80 chiefs showed up! They greeted every one of us, every one of the other chiefs present and every one of the children. The topic of discussion waited and the children were never shooed away. The greetings were obviously more important.

Inside we spent some time in prayer and worship. Without instruments or a sound system the Malawians rocked that schoolhouse! Even the Americans were up and stomping; to the amusement of any who noticed how difficult it was for us to keep up! Then they were told to split into 2 groups and discuss the characteristics of a Godly Leader.

A hush falls over the room and maybe 10 people pull out parcels. The parcels have been hidden inside their jacket or in the folds of their skirts and they begin to unwrap them. First a layer of plastic, then a layer of brown paper, maybe some bubble wrap and then a piece of cloth. They are bringing out their Bibles! Treated like the precious treasure that it is, God’s Word was obviously one of their most valuable possessions.

In their groups there is lively and animated discussion. I’m sitting on the floor in the midst of a group because I don’t want to miss out, but I can’t follow anything they’re saying. Then Amos asks for their response, and I am blown away.

“A leader must love their people, be willing to sacrifice for them, be willing to be the example of Godly behavior even when it’s not popular. A leader must be strong and teach their people, willing to correct and willing to encourage. A leader must depend on God and teach their people to depend on God also.”

These are relatively new believers! This group of 80 came together to share 10 Bibles! Their understanding of the Scripture seems supernatural. I am amazed at the way the Holy Spirit blew through that schoolhouse and revealed all of that to them in such a short amount of time. And so I ask Amos, did they say what they thought we wanted to hear, are they really trying to live by these principals?

“Lisa, they have committed to follow Christ. They are living this! They know they are the hope of their people.”

The Malawians seem to value their relationships over time. The Malawians treated God’s Word like their most treasured possession. The Malawians greatly esteemed a leader who depended on God and taught their people to do the same. A dear friend of ours, Steve Weik, used to say, “Only 3 things are eternal; God, God’s Word and God’s people, we should focus on investing in these." The Malawians are among the poorest of God’s children. If it’s a bad growing season, some of these dear brothers and sisters may die of starvation before the next harvest. Yet, they have grasped in just months, truths that will take some of us a lifetime to learn. God, His Word, and His people.

What keeps us from investing in these?

If we are followers of Christ then we have the privilege and responsibility to extend the spirit of thankfulness to every day of the year. Paul urged the Colossians to keep growing in Christ while overflowing with thankfulness (Col. 2:6-7). We are to do everything “in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him” (Col.3:17). When Abraham Lincoln declared the 1st Thanksgiving Day, he proclaimed that all our blessings “are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy.”

This is a fitting day to express gratitude to God. And, so is tomorrow, and every day that follows.

The last two weeks I've been partnering with one of our ministry partners, World Vision, at two different pastor's conferences to connect new churches to missions. One was the National Outreach Convention (NOC 2010) "Re-FOCUS On Your Outreach" in San Diego and the other was the RightNow Conference "Lead Beyond Our Walls" in Dallas, Texas.

Journey to Jamaa

We rolled out a transformational worship experience for pastors to take their congregation on a virtual missions trip on a Sunday morning. The Children Living in Uganda

Just three years ago 1.5 million people in Northern Uganda were displaced living in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps as refugee in their own country. Over 30,000 children have been abducted into the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) forced to become soldiers or sex slaves, witness atrocities beyond belief, commit tragic acts of violence against their family members, and bear children of commanders of the LRA. Those children who were not abducted during the war stopped attending school to prevent the possibility of being abducted when walking to school or received little education in the IDP camps.

He is Still on the Throne

I'm starting to teach through the book of James in my Men's Bible Study. This morning we worked through the first few verses, which was a great passage for me to study the last week as we are going through one of those major trials in our lives. It was also a great reminder that when I lack wisdom that I can ask God and He will give it to me freely, and boy do I need His wisdom now more than ever.

"Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect results, that you may be perfect and completed lacking in nothing. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him." James 1:2-5 NAS

Testimony of his Goodness...

A friend prayed that God would provide some funds, so she could give a donation to our ministry. She knew we needed it right now. She prayed to God that if she received the rebate check that she filed for 3-days ago, which normally takes 6-weeks, that she would give 10% to our ministry. Well, she received that $10,000 check today. Our God is still on His Throne and we are The King of King's kids! :-)

4 Weeks in The Villages of Malawi

I'm back home after 31-days in Africa.

There is so much to tell after being there for a month with 80 people from 15 different US churches and about 50 Malawian missionary partners. We had ministry partners working in the mission station hospital, leading kid's activities, farming, teaching sewing, teaching Bible classes, doing outreaches with the Jesus Film, doing construction, etc.

My Trip Highlights

They haven't seen white people since 1963. 16 came to Christ.

I took a small team on a several hour hike out to a remote village area that had not seen white people since 1963. We did medical check-ups, kid's club activities, visited with groups of people, etc. I personally had the honor of sharing with a small group of village chiefs and some of their wives. After sharing the creation story and the Romans Road Scriptures, I drew the Bridge Illustration Story on the dirt (just as my mentor Steve Weik had taught me). 16 people prayed with me to accept Christ. I gave them a Talking Bible in Chichewa, so that they can have a weekly Bible Study together. ;-) The need and would like more Talking Bibles... click HERE to see what a Chief or Chiefs said to me.

I taught evangelists, pastors, & chiefs.

I taught shepherding, evangelism, and Bible doctrine to 80+ evangelists from all over Malawi as part of their annual 2-week training program. I was asked at the last minute to teach a marriage workshop.

It was from 8am to 6pm and 135 people attended. I gave a Gospel presentation to start the class off and 32 people prayed with me to accept Christ. What a great way to start the day... it was a fun class to teach. I learned that their marriage issues are similar to ours. However, I did learn some interesting and fun things I can't talk about here. ;-O

We took 200 EvangeCubes and I taught all our missionaries & the evangelists how to use them. As part of a class on AIDS I showed the chiefs & their wives how to use a HopeCube (about HIV/AIDS).

Attended a friends wedding.

I had a lot of fun attending the wedding of one of our local missionary's. The church was shaped like a cross and the wedding party came in dancing. Groomsmen from one side and the brides maids from the other. Even the bride and the groom came in dancing on the arms of their parents. They met in the center and danced around each other. It was really cool. They entered the reception dancing too. The band would call up various groups and people would come up dancing, then they would throw money (bills) at the couple. We did this for a few hours... I must have danced my way up to them about 20 times. It was an amazing party!

Watched several surgeries.

I was able to join several of our doctors as they did surgeries in our village hospital.

It was an unforgettably rewarding month...
God multiplied our resources and our efforts. In just 30 days, a ministry training center was built, fields were planted, hundreds were taught Bible classes, several Jesus film outreaches were held with follow-up, many kids clubs were done, 1,000 new outfits of children clothing were distributed, hundreds were taught valuable sewing skills, many children were cared for by our physicians & nurses, many surgeries were performed each day, 150 soccer balls were distributed and many soccer matches were played, hundreds came to know Christ, and 80 exhausted Americans returned home richer because of the warm smiles and loving hospitality they received from the Malawians. Leaving for a Month

On the trail again...

I will be living in the Nkhoma Mission Station (built by Dr. David Livingstone in the 1800’s). This will be the longest I’ve been away from my family.

We will have 80 people from

USA

that will be joining us in the villages during the next 30 days.

I'm the white guy in the middle of these village chiefs and their wives. This was the largest gathering of chiefs they've ever had. I was asked to share with them. After the gathering, I was interviewed on Malawian radio.

FaithQuest Missions will be overseeing teams in the following areas: construction, medical aid, children’s ministry, sewing, farming, Talking Bibles, Jesus film outreach, and Biblical leadership training. I personally will be overseeing a small team of teachers that will train over 400 chiefs, village pastors, and lay leaders. It's going to be a fantastic summer of mission's ministry.

Thank you for your partnership in His work. Without a team praying, supporting, and encouraging us we would not be able to go and serve. Keep praying... we are under a lot of spiritual and physical attacks as we move forward 4HisKingdom.

One of the joys of ministry is being able to play with the children in Malawi and visiting our sponsored children. We have two sponsored children in Malawi... Lackson(6) & Stella(4).

Let me share with you just a few blessings in the last few weeks...

I picked up 50 soccer balls and 50 Talking Bibles to take to Malawi.
I received an email from a pastor's wife who received a Talking Bible. Over the last 6 months she exposed 861 people to the Gospel through the Talking Bible and 318 accepted Christ.
I took a group of pastors/leaders from a church in Irvine to Malawi a little over a year ago... they caught the fire! Today, this church of about 800 has taken severals service trips back, sponsored over 1,500 children from our villages, purchased 153 Talking Bibles ($50 each), funded hundreds of mosquito nets, funded the drilling of 2 water wells ($6,200 each), and will send a team with me this summer too.

China Mission's Trip Great Success!

Highlights in Beijing

"Good news from far away is like cold water to the thirsty." Proverbs 25:25

Meetings with the man that oversees all of religion for China. Our meetings produced open doors to hold a forum of reconciliation this fall, then in 2011 a major conference for 12,000 people in Beijing about how Jesus can bring peace into their lives.
Worship in a Home “underground” Church.
Shared encouragement from the Scriptures (2 Timothy 2:1-15) with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ at the "kick off” of a theological seminary. There were about 40 home church pastors there... overseeing hundreds of home churches throughout China.
Presented a Chinese Talking Bible to the President of the new theological seminary.
Presented a video Internet phone (VoIP) to our main contact in China. This will allow us to communicate with each other for free. He is the grandson of the Last Emperor who was also a big movie star in China. He is a Christian now and is the Director of the Christian community center that will be started in Beijing.

God is opening doors in China and I’m blessed to have been able to be there as an ambassador of Jesus Christ. Thank you for your financial and prayer support to make this happen.

Highlights in Hong Kong

For those of you that don't know, I was born in Hong Kong and have not been back since I was 9-years-old, 41 years ago.

My daughter Alison was able to join me on this trip.
Enjoyed seeing the sites of Hong Kong with my cousin Candace, and good friend Edith... including my old school and home.
Had lunch with my 92-year-old uncle, A. de O. Sales, aka "The Portuguese God Father." He is the patriarch of our family. We were driven by his chauffeur in his beautiful Jaguar to the County Club he has lunch at everyday. That was a real treat to see him again.
Had lunch with my father's sister too. I have not seen her in over 41-years.
Enjoyed eating great Chinese food.

Prayer Requests

Gracie's health, doctors are running many test on her after she blacked out at her last 2 soccer games. She has not been feeling good. She was planning to work this summer as a Medic at Forest Home, but that looks like it's not going to happen, because of her medical issues.
Please pray for me as I continue to facilitate some of the connections God has directed me to in order to see His plans come alive in China.
I have much work to do in the next month in order to prepare for a month of teaching and leading in our efforts in Malawi, Africa.
The project management of recording the New Testament in Yao (a language they use in Malawi) and the distribution of 100,000 Talking Bibles throughout the world. Very important meeting with the Bible Society on June 18th.
Financial support raising for our family and our ministry. It's been a difficult economy for monthly commitments.

Open Doors in China

As you read this I will be on my way to Beijing with a small delegation of Christian leaders invited by the government to meet regarding having a "Prince of Peace" Conference in Beijing and starting a work in China. This is an opportunity that will open doors for significant historical consequences. We will be exploring questions in our meetings such as these...

How does / should the government relate to the house church movement?
What is the difference between denominations and cults?
What should be the transitions of the house church (the Christian Church in China) movement?

1.3 billion people…
the most people in the world and a high percentage of them are lost and without hope.

We will seek to discuss several key components as they relate to the "Prince of Peace" Conference such as...

What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus?
How does Jesus' message of reconciliation transform a person?
How does the Spirit of Jesus bring Mercy and Peace to society?
How does Jesus give purpose to life?

Please pray for us as we travel, for our meetings, and for the trip funding to be provided.

History in the Making

I've been invited by another missionary to help them start a work in China. Starting in Beijing, the government has given us a building and extended an invitation to start a community center right in the heart of China. We can promote Christ's teachings from the Bible. We just can't call the center a church or put up a cross.

I'm taking a small team, including my daughter Alison, for some meetings with government officials and to check out the new community center facility. We're making plans for the community center and a proposed "Price of Peace Summit" for the near future. At the proposed summit, we will discuss the teaching of Jesus to introduce some of the following subjects:

What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus?
How does Jesus' message of reconciliation transform a person?
How does the Spirit of Jesus bring Mercy and Peace to society?
How Jesus gives purpose to life?

These topics would essentially lead to discussions on the differences between cults and denominations, house church and individual practice of one’s faith, along with healthy social behavior that advocates harmony and unity for society. This is something that the government is very open to and seems willing to move forward with. Please pray for these very important meetings.

One Hundred Going to Serve

I will be staying out in the villages in Malawi for a month this summer on our "HIS Hands & Feet" Mission's Trip. We will have about 100 people coming from our US churches to serve in farming, construction, sewing, Kid's Clubs, and medical care. We have 22 doctors coming to provide medical care at our mission station hospital. I will be leading a small teaching team. We will be teaching hundreds of village chiefs, pastors, and small group leaders how to shepard their flocks, and how to teach core Biblical doctrine. I need one more teacher if you are interested. We have just 3 spots left, join our team (July 28- August 14).

Leading the Way

Back to Malawi, as I lead a team of pastors and leaders on a Vision Trip to "spy out the land." This trip is designed for pastors to learn about our mission's partnership in Malawi and how their churches can join us. My wife, Lisa, will be going with us on this trip God willing. This will be her first trip to Malawi with me.

As you can imagine it takes financial resources to move out in faith believing that God wants us to go on these trips. Would you please join us in not only prayer, but in a financial gift so these trips will be possible. We are praying that the China trip will not only pave the way for the future of China, but for our daughter Alison as well. We saw how your kindness in partnership allowed our daughter Gracie to go to Malawi and how it changed her life. In case you don't know, she is planning on moving to Malawi for 2-years to help in the hospital in the village mission station. We will also need resources, not only for my trips, but for my wife Lisa's too. She has not been able to work it out to be away from our children for 2-weeks since I started leading these trips, but we are making plans for that to happen this fall. Roughly every minute, 3 children die, because of unsafe drinking water and poor sanitation.

Clean water can immediately cut death rates in half.

No other humanitarian intervention has a more dramatic effect on life than access to clean water.

An Appointment Made in Heaven

I wondered if I, one person, could really make a difference in a world afflicted with poverty, malaria, and AIDS… you know, some of the world issues that seem just too big?

That day He allowed us to be the answer to a special prayer… you see one mother was crying out for help, because she just found out that her little boy had AIDS.

Well, let me tell you a short story. It was a beautiful afternoon when we drove into the Malnutrition Unit at the Nkhoma Mission Station out in the village area in Africa. I took a team from Southern California to teach farming to hundreds of people in the villages and to plant some demonstration fields. Since we were done by mid-afternoon each day, the team wanted to see if we could help at the hospital. That day will be a day that none of us will easily forget; we can’t help but believe it was an appointment made in heaven.

As we drove in, we saw moms sitting in the dirt with their babies and little ones trying to feed them with the little food they had. It was a very unsettling, haunting sight; none of us had ever seen anything like it in the U.S. If we walked up to a situation like this at home, we’d be compelled to do something to help. However, we’re from Southern California, insulated from these scenes of poverty by the tremendous busyness in each of our lives. There’s school, work, church, the gym, and a needed stop at Starbucks. Every day is so full!

As we learned why they were sitting in the dirt and not under a roof, we started to do what we could to make a difference for those moms. As I look back, I realize that fixing the huts for the moms and babies was only a part of what God had in mind. That day He allowed us to be the answer to a special prayer… you see one mother was crying out for help, because she just found out that her little boy had AIDS. I just can’t imagine seeing my wife and son in that predicament. This little boy, Chimwemwe, was about the size of my son Chase.

Chimwemwe grabbed the hearts of all of us, but especially the young lady in our group named Monique. God used Monique in such a powerful way to lift the spirits of Chimwemwe and his mother. God just poured out His love to them using Monique as a willing vessel. We connected with one of our World Vision partners to see if we could get Chimwemwe into the World Vision Child Sponsorship database, so that Monique could sponsor him and help meet his family’s needs. This was a big encouragement to Chimwemwe and his mother. As a sponsored child, he would receive the medication and nutrition that he needs to have a better chance of survival. Later that afternoon we all went back to our camp and couldn’t help but want to try to brighten up Chimwemwe a little if we could, so we found items that we could give him. I had an outfit from my son Chase that was just his size… now I knew why I carried that outfit all the way to the other side of the world. We had a soccer ball, some toys, etc., so Monique put it all together and was compelled to return to the hospital. All of us wanted to be there to see a smile on Chimwemwe and his mother’s face.

I learned my lesson well that day… if I can make a difference in just one person’s life, then I made a difference in the world.

On my last trip in April 2009, I took 205 Talking Bibles to Malawi and started a new initiative of Talking Bible Listening Groups in the villages. Last week I received our first reports back...

655 people have accepted Christ through the Talking Bible Listening Groups. 4,661 people have heard the Gospel in our Talking Bible Listening Groups.

Leaving on October 6th
I'm taking a team of farmers to Malawi to teach Farming God's Way. This is a new initiative that will save lives physically by teaching them how to yield 7-10 times their typical harvest. This is so revolutionizing that World Vision and the Government Agriculture Officers will be attending our first training session.

Please pray that our trainings and meetings will lay a foundation that will replicate itself all over Malawi. We are taking 100 Talking Bibles. Please pray that they all make it there without problems.

There’s a story behind every headline. Our daughter Gracie’s friend Michael Victor Pyper died Friday night, 2 days before his 18th birthday. His friends called him Pyper. We might not think a 17 year old has much of a legacy to leave, but I’d like to share a few memories about Pyper.

Pyper’s friend Omar invited him to Church where he met Jesus.
He was a believer and was growing in his faith. He looked tough on the outside, you might even cross the street if you saw him coming toward you, but he was a born encourager and was full of joy. His friends often got text messages from him before they woke that read, ”I love you; hope you have a great day.” On Wednesday mornings he’d text Omar and say, “It’s Church Day! We get to go to Church tonight!” Pyper was growing up in a catholic home, and his father didn’t always let him go to church. He called Omar very disappointed to say he wasn’t going to be there one Wednesday night and Omar told him, “Don’t worry about it you can do what we’re doing at home. Just read your Bible.” Omar got a text in the middle of the night from Pyper that read, ”I think I’m almost half way through but I’m getting stuck on all these stories about these old guys killing each other.” Pyper was literally trying to read the entire Bible. Pyper often sent text messages to friends containing scripture references, so much so, that occasionally a friend had to text back, “Pyper, just use your words, I can’t keep stopping to look these verses up!”

Gracie and Pyper had a lot of fun lifeguarding at the Wave Water Park together. He loved to tell stories, loved to make people laugh and according to all who knew him, he was always smiling. He also had a serious side and had some good conversations with Gracie about faith and values and how he wanted to live. He told her he respected the way he saw her make decisions that he thought it was great that she told people she would only date Christians and that she was open to others about being a Christian. He told her he wanted to be more like that and hoped he would grow to be a Godly man. He said he was going to get a tattoo when he turned 18. Taken from Romans 12:2, his tattoo would read, “Do not conform.” He was thinking about having it written across his chest backward so he’d read it every morning when he looked in the mirror. He said he wanted a daily reminder.

Pyper had plans. He intended to grow. His friends often heard him say he was living to turn 18 so he could start his life. He was going to make some changes and he thought he had time. We all think we have time. Pyper’s enthusiasm for growth, his hunger for the Word, his contagious joy, and his words of encouragement inspire and challenge me. I can’t remember the last time I woke up thinking, “Today’s a church day, and I get to go to Church today!” Can you? Not bad for a 17 year old.

Gracie and Pyper were going to take a Ballroom Dance class together next semester. Gracie wants you to save a dance for her Pyper! She knows she’ll see you again.

Chase had fun this summer going to summer school and being with his friends. His class took fieldtrips to the grocery store to get ice cream weekly. He got to spend lots of time doing fun crafts and coloring. Chase also spent tons of time in the pool; he’s a regular fish out of water and swims very well. But one of the highlights of his summer was going to the movies every Tuesday with his sisters! Chase has also been talking and singing a lot more, we think it’s because of all the time he’s spent “running” with mom and dad while listening to his iPod. :) He’s getting to be quite the little jogger, stomping along and waving to everyone that goes by. He also allows mom the pleasure of pushing him in his stroller when he gets tired. This year he’s very excited about playing soccer for the Blue Dragons Team. His favorite part of the game is still the snack and the cool uniform. Overall Chasey-boy had a great summer.

Olivia (14)
This summer Olivia had a great time getting involved in the high school youth group at church. She signed up for the student leadership retreat and headed off to weekend of fun and friends. After coming back she had fun planning lots of her signature Thursday night parties, beach outings and sleepovers. She even signed up for air bands and got up in front of hundreds of kids to lip sync pop songs and dance with her friends. Olivia also spent time three days a week helping Gracie teach private swim lessons in our pool. She got to help some very cute kids learn, "big scoops”, blowing bubbles, and “motor boat, motor boat”. She was also very blessed to spend a week at the beginning of summer at AWANA Leadership camp. She played AWANA games, recited verses every morning and ended up getting sick during the first hours of camp. She had a great week especially enjoying the paintball course, the archery range and the intermediate ropes course. Not a bad summer, eh?

Alison had the pleasure of going to a camp with each sister. First to the Student Leadership Retreat with Olivia, where they spent lots of time brainstorming, hanging with friends, enjoying good worship music and eating junk food. And second to Lake Shasta with Gracie. Where she got to spend a week learning how to wake board, listening to some amazing lessons, meeting tons of new friends, experiencing the beauty of more stars then she’s ever seen and having a very messy mud fight. She came back with a light tan and more Shasta parties and social events then her Mom could drive her too! : ) Alison also spent lots of time relaxing, reading and eating watermelon by the pool. She even got to go see some great musicals with her Mom. All in all it was one of her best summers ever!

This summer Gracie continued to lifeguard at the Wave Water Park. She got accepted to the Top Gun training program and taught swim lessons to lots of little “guppies”. Gracie also went to Lake Shasta and had a great week. She even jumped the wake while out on one of her wake boarding runs! She met lots of new people, washed her hair in the lake (just for fun!), went on the ring of fire (a very wild and fast inner tubing run.), enjoyed evening worship out on top of the house boats and laughed a lot with her very silly group of girlfriends. Gracie then came home and planned an amazing Shasta party at our house. There were about a hundred or so teens dressed all in 70's/80’s clothes dancing on our deck, swimming in the pool, jumping on the trampoline and just having fun. It was a great night! Grace finished off the summer by dressing up with her sisters and friends as pirates and going to the movies to see “The Veggie Tales, Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything”. Arrrghhh!

The kids finished off the summer by having a sleepover on the trampoline, going to a movie in the park and getting frozen yogurt with their Daddy. :)

God is Good!

Let me tell you of God's goodness. A few weeks ago I was praying that God would encourage me, because support raising has been so difficult. I began reading a book called People Raising. It was very good, so I contact the author and we got to know each other. He invited me to a People Raising workshop. The only problem was it was in Kansas City, MO. Well, I prayed for about a week asking God if I should spend the money to attend and decided that I should take the step of faith and book all the necessary reservations. The next day I received 2 unexpected checks in the mail that covered the total expense. ;-) One was with a note that read "Have a great summer!"

My mother offered me the use of a Buddy Pass, so I got a round-trip flight for under $200 to Kansas City. There was only one catch; I had to fly stand-by, which meant that only if there was a seat on the plane then I would get on. I arrived at 4:30am at the airport to be informed that all flights were over sold and if I did get to Salt Lake City that I would not get on the next flight to Kansas City. Well, to make a long story short... I told Lisa that she could go home and I was going to trust that I would make it. At each gate they told me the same thing, but God worked it out, so that I flew First Class all the way to Kansas City. ;-)

On the way back it was the same story. The last leg I was number 13 of 23 on the stand-by list… everyone had boarded and they announced that all stand-by passengers would have to wait for the next flight, which was the next morning. I was sitting next to another man that was also flying stand-by and he told me this was his 3rd day trying to get on and that he would never use a Buddy Pass again. Next thing you know... I heard them call 3 passengers up to the gate to stand there and wait. One was an airline steward, then they called a few more stand-by passengers, but they had left already. They called me, so I went up the counter and asked if I could give my spot to the man that had been waiting 3-days. She said that is very nice of you, but if you give up your seat we have to give it to the next person on the list. She then told me that I can get on the plane. The 3 others standing waiting looked at her like “hey, we're here before him,” but I just followed directions and went to the plane. I couldn't believe... from #13 on the list to getting on a full plane. I took the last seat. The other stand-by passengers all ended up having to wait for the next day. I was blown away and just kept shaking my head in awe that I was on my way back to San Diego!

That is not all... in my early 20's I served at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa in the High School Ministry. One of the teen girls looked me up on FaceBook and found out I was going to Kansas City, so she asked if she could introduce me to her family and if I would share with them about our ministry. Well, she brought her mother-in-law too and after dinner when they were dropping me back at the hotel her mother-in-law asked if she could give me a gift for our ministry. I was so blessed by her generosity! It was just what we needed to make it through another month. GOD IS GOOD!

I was also encouraged when the instructor at the workshop invited me out to dinner with him and his wife. What an opportunity that was for me to "pick their brains."

Creates A Warm Heart FOR Malawi!

Dottie Anderson went on a 15-day trip to Africa last summer, with her daughter, Jordan, and friend, Jake Berry. She writes, "I have been unable to forget the people of Malawi. The country is known as the “Warm Heart of Africa” and for good reason. Gratitude and compassion amongst the people there was overwhelming! Over and over, we witnessed people serving people despite their own circumstance. We knew we would be changed by this experience, as anyone would be, but where would that lead? We didn’t just want to BE changed, we wanted to BRING change".

With school starting just days after our return, my fourth grade students got a chance to hear about some of our experiences. During recess each day, they watched me pull cans and bottles from trash cans around the school. At first they just observed, but when I told them where the money was going, they joined in taking what would have been trash and turned it into treasure. By December, we had raised close to $1300.00.

Amazed by their efforts, my students wondered how much they could raise if the entire school were to help. What if we encouraged others to re-think recycling? What would happen if we brought awareness to those here and invited them to gift the money to people in desperate need? Together, we did just that!

With the help and support of Principal Kimberly Hall and student council members, Ricky Kuciemba and Lauren Henchel, collections began. Jennifer Bullockus, a student in my class, organized and managed “green teams” during recess time to sort and bag donations. Jordan and Jake used their talents to paint a huge sign to bring awareness. It reads: Re-Think, Re-Gift, RECYCLE for Malawi, the Warm Heart of Africa. Over the past three weeks, Bathgate families contributed daily, and on the morning of February 11, the entire student body was seated inside the “Warm Heart FOR Malawi!” The heart was formed using all the bagged aluminum cans and plastic bottles we collected totaling close to $700!

The message: Alone, we can do little, yet together we can do so much! Our character trait at school this month is unity. Students at Bathgate were able to be part of something bigger than themselves. They experienced firsthand what is possible when people unite. It creates ‘Synergy which makes the whole greater than the sum of its parts.’

We still have a ways to go before reaching our goal of $6,200.00 in order to fund a clean-water well, but we are dedicated to bringing hope and change to this world. When people ask us, “How long will you be recycling for Malawi?” Our answer is, “Forever!”

What is Team FaithQuest?
Team FaithQuest is a dedicated group of men and women committed to raising awareness and resources for some of the world’s most impoverished countries. Add a richer meaning and purpose to your training by bringing help and hope to needy children. Join our network of men and women who share a common goal. Cycling, running, swimming, hiking, or any event that requires training is a welcome addition to this great “dual purpose” opportunity (Training you and helping others!).

What is Team FaithQuest San Diego doing now?
We are currently doing walk/runs on Saturday mornings in various locations throughout San Diego County. We also meet several times a week for training in North SD County. Even if you normally run/train on your own, you are welcome to join us on Saturday morning runs... or simply participate in just the events, if you prefer.

We have a trainer that will help you get started, set up a training program, and help you set goals. We will be running/walking our first San Diego 5K in August 2009 and a 10K in November. We plan to participate in a few more 10K events... all gearing up to run/walk our first half-marathon in 2010!

What is FaithQuest?
FaithQuest is a Christian-based nonprofit organization. Our goal is to build bridges of love and connection between individuals/churches within the U.S. and impoverished communities in Africa and around the world. We are committed to mobilizing the church to put their faith into action and fully transform the lives of the extremely poor.

FaithQuest Missions started the “Y-Malawi?” partnership of 6 mission organizations and about 30 U.S. churches... in order to help briing the Good News of hope and help to villages in Malawi, Africa. This has resulted in World Vision sponsorship of over 4,500 needy children (meaning almost $2 million per year for missions work), installation of 22 new water wells which replaced consumption of water from contaminated ponds and mud holes, as well as construction of 6 new schools, and thousands coming to know Christ. Back Home with a Different Perspective

We are back from Malawi!

Hey everyone! My dad and I made it back from 66.5 hours of traveling by airplane, boat, bus, van, train, car, and on foot. We had an amazing trip. God really worked in our lives and in the lives of the people we met throughout the trip.

Malawi, Africa April 2009

Recently my small group at church has been going through this book about the power of prayer and God has been really challenging me with it. Praying out loud and in front of people has always been something that has been hard for me, so it has been a real challenge and growing experience. While in Malawi I got the chance to go to a church out in a village called The African Abraham Church. My dad had warned our team that we would all be most likely asked to share at the church service and to have something prepared. This made me very nervous and I had no idea what I was going to share if I was asked, so I prayed and God showed me some verses in the Bible that for some reason really stood out to me that day, more than usual. God showed me though that His plan isn't always what we expect or are prepared for. During the church service I wasn't asked to share in the way I thought. The pastor of the church asked me to stand and pray for the offering. He asked about two minutes before he wanted me to stand, so I didn't even have time to think about what I was agreeing to. :) God tested me in Malawi in a way I least expected. I never thought I would be coming back to California and telling you that I stood up in front of a church of maybe a hundred people or so and prayed.

Thank you everyone for all your prayers and support while we were gone. We wouldn't have made it without you.

We brought several of our Malawi Mission Heads over to visit some of our partner churches here in Southern California. I'm blessed to report to you that it was a very successful trip in many ways. Over $90,000 was raised for our Ministries in Malawi.

I'm leading a group of pastors/leaders on a Mission's Vision Trip to Malawi. We are leaving for Malawi next week! Gracie (our 17-year-old daughter) and I have been trying to raise money for soccer balls, jump ropes, and Talking Bibles to take with us.

We went from 30 Talking Bibles to 250!
We went from 20 soccer balls to 50!

Plus... a small group at one of our Y-Malawi partner churches in Orange County put together some gifts for us to take too (how can we say "no"). Look how they worked to bless...

Please pray that we will have a safe trip, that we will be an encouragement to the people in Malawi, and that God will speak to each one of us with new vision and passion to join Him in what He is doing.

Soccer Balls & Jump Ropes for Malawi

I took soccer balls and jump ropes Wednesday night, April 1st, to my youth group at church. We asked students to donate $6 for a soccer balls and $2 for a jump rope. We also had markers there so the students could write notes on the balls. I will be taking them with me to Malawi on the 14th. We got 10 balls and our goal is to take at least 40 soccer balls with us.If you would like to be a part of sending children in Africa soccer balls, please let us know! We need to collect all the funds for 40 soccer balls by Friday, April 10th.

Talking Bibles Going to Malawi

I've been meeting with the President and Vice President of Talking Bibles International these last few months and 2 weeks ago they told me that they will be interviewed on a radio station next Tuesday, March 31 to raise money for Talking Bibles for Y-Malawi. I was so blessed that they choose our ministry.

Please pray that the flood gates of heaven will open and thousands of dollars will be raised, so people can hear the Scriptures in their own language.

I will be meeting with them next Wednesday to come up with a strategy to distribute these Talking Bibles through two of our Y-Malawi Ministries. One is Fishers Trainers Senders (FTS) and the other is our Chief's Ministry, so hundreds of villages in Malawi will be listening to God's Word soon! I will be taking some with me in two weeks when I leave for Malawi.

Last August I took one Talking Bible to Malawi and it was given to this 94-year-old blind women who became a Christian. She has been a Muslim all her life.

60% of the people in Malawi can't read, but they can listen!

Join me in getting them the Scriptures!

How you can make a difference...

1) Help me raise money to get more Talking Bibles in the hands of the Malawian people.
2) Pray for funding to record another language. I will be meeting with TBI next week about this.
3) Adopt a village by providing the chief a Talking Bible, $50.

If you are interested in learning about a local project that I'm working on to get Bible listening groups in retirement homes started, please let me know. I could use some help getting this going. I have 10 Talking Bibles in English that I'm starting with.

As you know, there are a lot of elderly people that can't read anymore, because of bad eye sight. Some of them are very lonely and without hope. Help me get the Word of God to them. 30 people can sit around one of these Talking Bibles and listen. With little computer speakers we can raise that number to 50.
